Brief introduction of Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University is a unique comprehensive university bridging China and the world, connecting ancient and modern, and encompassing the arts and sciences.
In 1909, Tourism Aesthetics Department was built in Beijing and began to study the preparation for pavilion at the same time, agent Zhou Ziqi周自齐, recruiting the first group of students studying directly in the United States. In 1911, the study hall was renamed Tsinghua school清华学堂, and school for the first time to be a part of the “refund” by the United States “boxer indemnity”庚子赔款 establish a preparatory school to stay in the United States.
In 1949, Tsinghua belonging to the central people’s government Ministry of Education中央人民政府教育部was renamed “Tsinghua University” .
Since the reform and opening up改革开放, Tsinghua university has gradually established the long-term goal of building the World-Class University, entering the new booming period. The school has recovery or found new science, arts, medicine, and economic management disciplines, and formed the colleges of further education and graduate school. Education Achivements and Rankings
The campus of Tsinghua University is situated on the site of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty清朝 and is surrounded by a number of historical sites in northwest Beijing. It covers an area of 442.12 hectares, a construction area of 2.8764 million square meters. It has 21 colleges and 59 teaching departments, offering 82 undergraduate majors. There are 50 post-doctoral research stations, 22 first-level state key disciplines, and 60 first-level doctoral and master’s degree authorization centers.
Tsinghua University consists of 21 schools and 59 departments, with 22 primary national key disciplines of the top in the nation; In addition, the school also has 15 secondary national key disciplines,2 national key disciplines (Nurture), combined with primary key disciplines covered by secondary discipline. The school has a total of 115 national key disciplines.

Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering水利水电工程: The Department of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering is one of the engineering departments with advantages and historical traditions in Tsinghua University.
